Identity & Branding
St. Luke’s School (SLS) is an independent day school for grades 5 through 12, located within the highly competitive Connecticut private school market. Studio-e has partnered with SLS, assisting them to establish and build a solid brand. We began our work by developing their communications platform that included core messages and an admissions theme: Above and Beyond. This became the foundation for the next phase of our work, the redesign of their identity and admissions materials.
St. Luke’s School is a secular school, which presents a challenge with a name like theirs! Since a name change was not possible, we created a wordmark that downplays “St.” and “School” and emphasizes “Luke’s.” We designed a primary identity consisting of the wordmark in a set relationship with the school motto. We defined the brand attributes—color palette and type palette—and produced their brand style guide, which outlines rules for use of the SLS brand elements.
